ArthroFill™ is the result of years of development, born from the passion of two founders for sport, wellness and health. Their company Proceanis GmbH was founded in 2010 in Hamburg.
In the 1970s, over 40 years ago, veterinarians began using hyaluronic acid to support joints. Since the 1990s, hyaluronic acid has also been used in human medicine for osteoarthritis.
The two company founders – one grew up on a sport horse farm in Schleswig-Holstein, the other comes from a family of doctors in the Rhineland – wanted to research the use of hyaluronic acid as a dietary supplement in humans.
Initial research led to a study by Toho University in Japan in 2002. This study shows that hyaluronic acid ingested through food can even reach the layers of the skin.
The founders developed the vision that has determined the company to this day: To create products that start deeply and support the body in using hyaluronic acid to improve the body’s ability to retain water and thus restore a natural balance.
In 2012, the young company published “Proceanis”, the world’s first, quasi pioneer hyaluronic-drink. After more years of research and development, it appeared in October 2014 as “ArthroFill™”. Since then, ArthroFill™ has recorded a steadily growing number of satisfied customers in Europe.
Proceanis GmbH continued to invest an enormous amount of time and money for further research of Joint-Health related matters. In coordination with medical and pharmaceutical osteoarthritis specialists, Proceanis was able to establish their own proven product into the health industry.

Hyaluronic acid is the main component of the synovial fluid = our “synovial fluid”
Hyaluronic acid stores valuable moisture and forms the protective layer of the cells. As a polysaccharide (polysaccharide) is Hyaluronic acid formed by the body itself. The largest part is in the connective tissue, in the skin, the joints, the intervertebral discs and in the eyeball.
In all people, the body’s own production of Hyaluronic acid with increasing age. At the age of 40, the hyaluronic acid content in the connective tissue is still around 50 percent.
Arthro = the joint: the linchpin of our mobility
Every movement is a complex interplay of muscles, bones
and joints. To prevent the bones from rubbing against each
other, they are separated from each other by a joint space
lined with cartilage.
There is synovial fluid in the joint space. As a lubricant and
shock absorber, it reduces friction in the joint and
transports all nutrients into the cartilage tissue. The main
component of the synovial fluid is hyaluronic acid.
